The U.S. CDC has written that "If you see or smell smoke, there is a health problem", in other words. I personally have been exploring this problem with the Maine DEP and EPA modellors and keep seeing 80 mcg/m3 pm2.5 or more and monitoring checks this from Can Lung Assn studies. Photos show houses and cities engulfed in wood smoke and the worst pollution is invisible. I have seen heart attacks and asthma attacks and people die from smoke exposure and government negligance.
