It was the first time I had visited the area since the 82 Festival; having attended since 1978, when I was a 16 year-old UnderAge boozer myself! I certainly felt pretty emotional as I looked over to the "Barrows" Field, adjacent to the woods, overlooking the Henge, and remembered some crazy good times with my old mates; some of whom are no longer with us. I spent around two hours walking around the Stones and chatting to some of the older Hippies and Ravers; which was great fun and I met some lovely people. I left via the path to Larkhill as dusk approached, and took the detour back to Amesbury via the large Spoil Barrow, listening to a fading, drunken Aum chant. Then, a skylark went up aloft, leading me away from its nest, and my heart was finally lifted, and I was 17 again. A VERY Special Place. Seen the new M&S ad? With the Tipis n stuff? Bloody hilarious!
