The DV Programme should be improved not cancelled. A minimum English proficiency exam could be introduced as a requirement. In today's world it is fair to expect from prospective immigrants that they demonstrate their willingness to integrate by learning the official language of the United States. Adult siblings of US citizens should be fast tracked for DV lottery instead of having to stay 10 years to be eligible for a visa.

The dv program is just about the only hope we have in Africa for Africans wanting to immigrate to America. Without it immigration to America would have been only a pipe dream for millions of Africans. Indeed millions of lives have been changed, and even saved, by the program. We must fight to keep it.
