My sister's village in particular provides residents with local alerts of bogus callers to be aware of and local crimes that have happened. It is a way to bring the community together & feel more in touch.

I would like to add that when I ran a campaign many years ago in Maulden for Safer Routes to School the Parish Council were helpful & members did come on candlelit marches etc. Maulden lower school headmaster allowed children time off from school to present a petition to downing street & I am very proud of how many members of the community were involved. It was the council that continually let us down preferring to have more statistics of casualties along our dark & dangerous so called walking routes. Also, I seem to recall at the time, the Parish Council advising me how sadly due to other pressures not many members of the village were able to support the Parish Council with their time & input. I support Saqhib Ali & all the efforts of his Safer Maulden Campaign. A Parish News Letter would enable more cohesion & engagement & only be a good move.

I would definitely like to see minutes of parish council meetings as I cannot always attend in person. It is NOT true to say that the villagers are not interested in reading the minutes.
