AIDEN'S PETITION

On Saturday, October 28th 2017, Aiden, 22 months old, lost his life after falling from a third story window around 5pm the night before. Aiden is the third child to fall from a window in a specific apartment complex, the second child to lose his life. Had that window been properly secured in place beforehand, this tragic event may not have happened. Many residents feel the lack of maintenance on many of the apartment windows is a major issue and safety hazard. Please take into consideration that majority of the residents is this complex are families with small children. This incident affects us all, not just as family, but as neighbors and as acommunity, coming together to make a change for the better. In conclusion, we request proper fitting screens, window and screen maintenance, and screen locks on the windows of every unit to prevent any further incidents, accidents and/or tragedies. We hope to see a change.
