The proposed development of 470 homes at the former Allscott sugar factory site flies in the face of sustainability and good planning.
The development:
- uses valuable agricultural land and brownfield land which could provide better facilities - such as railway connections instead of road users;
- is on rural roads heavily constrained by dangerous railway bridges;
- is unwelcomed by local residents;
-stands to benefit one of the richest companies in the world;
- provides no employment opportunities.
We, the undersigned, object to the proposed development on the basis that the land could be far better used to support both the local community and the broader residents of Telford and Shrewsbury whilst maintaining the character of the rural landscape in which it is located.
