This petition is to request that ANS classes start at 8:00AM (or any time after 7:40AM) instead of 7:00AM.
This petition is to request that push back start time by aproximately one hour and start at 8:00AM (or any time after 7:40AM). Under this new schedule, for grades Pre-Kinder 3 and Pre-Kinder 4, the new class schedule would start at 8:00AM and end at 1:00PM. The rest of the school (Elementary, Middle and High school) would start at 8:00AM and end at 3:00PM.
If we combine an early school starting time of 7:00AM with a modest commute and viable rising time 5:45AM -- with our family and work obligations taking precedence (paid employment, school work, sports practices, clubs, volunteer work) -- the ability to have adequate sleep is strained. And for early risers, we could use that extra hour in the morning for morning meetings, club meetings, early study/library time, etc.
Families of ANS request a later start time for classes. From 7:40 - 8:00AM instead of the current 7:00AM.
