Approval for Amana Family Day Care to operate from Trinder Park Rest Home

Amana Family Day Care (comprising Carina Family Day Care Scheme and New Life Family Day Care Scheme) co-ordinates home based child care for over 350 families through out Logan City and Brisbane. Support is provided to over 60 Care Providers who operate from their own home as independent business owners.

The Co-ordination Unit matches early childhood professionals (providing quality child care in their own homes) with families according to their child care needs. Due to an increased demand for home based care we have found the need to relocate to a more suitable and central location. An opportunity to relocate to premises that are owned by our own organisation became available to us this year. Trinder Park Rest Home, owned and operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District has a house onsite that is suitable to our business needs.

Being community based and therefore non-profit it is essential that operating costs are kept to a minimum, we are able to achieve this by renting premises at this location rather than taking on a commercial lease.

We believe the inclusion of our business on this site will have minimal impact on local residents:
~ Less than 12 employees, rarely more than 4 onsite at any given time
~ Minimal visitors or clientele onsite
~ The site is currently a Translink Terminus with two buses running each hour
~ Adequate car parks already exist
~ No building works or site development are required
