Ry’n ni, sydd wedi arwyddo isod, yn credu fod penderfyniad Llywodraeth Cymru i adeiladu rhan newydd o draffordd yr M4 ar draws Wastadeddau Gwent yn gam gwag:
- Byddai’r draffordd arfaethedig yn niweidio’r amgylchedd
- Mae’r cynllun yn gostus iawn, byddai’n defnyddio holl bwerau benthyg arfaethedig Llywodraeth Cymru, ac yn golygu diffyg buddsoddiad mewn cynlluniau trafnidiaeth eraill am flynyddoedd
- Mae cynlluniau amgen ar gael a fyddai’n gwella’r tagfeydd presennol ar yr M4 o fewn cyfnod byrrach, gyda llai o niwed amgylcheddol, ac am gost is.

We, the undersigned, believe that the Welsh Government’s decision to build a new section of M4 motorway across the Gwent Levels to be misguided.
- The proposed motorway would be environmentally damaging
- The scheme is very costly, would utilise the whole of the Welsh Government’s proposed borrowing powers, and starve other transport schemes of investment for many years into the future
- Alternative proposals exist which would address the current traffic problems on the M4 in a shorter time-frame, with less environmental damage, and at a lower cost

We call on the Welsh Government to reconsider its decision, and to redirect investment to other, more sustainable, forms of transport.
