Ontario enacted a law which bans Pit bulls or those with similar characteristics. Big head, large chest, stumpy, and bullish. Oh yeah, although it doesn't mention it (4 legs), otherwise we might have described 70% of the politicians, which means the law says they need to be euthanized.
Seriously though, since the enactment the breed has diminished or been on good behaviour because statistics show, dog attacks are up in 4 years. The law has done nothing to stop attacks from other breeds or make the human partner responsible.
We the undersigned ask that the Ontario Government repeal all Breed Specific Legislation involved in the Dog legislation.
We suggest any necessary dog legislation should be enforced equally on any and all breeds, as well as consequences for bad ownership.
Furthermore, we ask that Provincial Law should override any municipal laws involving breed banning.
