E-cigarettes are known to contain ingredients that are known to be toxic. In addition, they are attractive to young people and could lead kids to try other tobacco products and or other illicit drugs.
Currently, Brockton MA does not have restrictions on minors purchasing E-Cigarettes.
We, the residents of Brockton, MA would like the Brockton City Council to pass an Ordinance banning the sale of E-Cigarettes to anyone under the age of 18.
We, the undersigned, call on the City of Brockton to restrict the sale of E-Cigarettes to persons 18 years old and older. It is unacceptable that children and teenagers under the age of 18 could purchase e-cigarettes without restriction here in Brockton.
E-cigarette use could lead to smoking cigarettes and to the use of drugs and alcohol which is physically and socially destructive to the user.
We do not want our kids exposed to such risks and respectfully, yet sternly, request that the City of Brockton and the City Council pass an ordinance immediately to ban the sale of E-Cigarettes to minors.
