Millions of Indian children are exposed to sexual, violent, and immoral content on OTT platforms. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, and others profit from this negligence, disregarding parental controls, age verification, and India’s moral values. This urgent issue demands that the Government of India take immediate, strict, and enforceable action to protect children and uphold the nation’s ethical standards.

Millions of Indian children are being exposed to sexualized, violent, and immoral content on OTT platforms. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, and others are profiting from this negligence, ignoring parental control systems, age verification, and the nation’s moral fabric. The Government of India must take immediate, strict, and enforceable action.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society. They deserve safety, innocence, and protection from content that can damage their minds and shape their understanding of morality in the wrong way.

Today, OTT platforms are releasing unrated, sexually explicit, and gore-filled content that is directly accessible to minors, even with parental locks and restricted profiles. This is not just negligence—it is profit-driven exploitation of our children.

Every day, children are watching content that:

Normalizes violence and abuse.

Sexualizes minors and relationships.

Desensitizes them to cruelty, gore, and immoral behavior.

Undermines India’s traditional values and ethical upbringing.

This is a national crisis, and ignoring it will have long-term consequences for our future generations.

Why This Demands Strict Action

1. Parental Controls Have Failed: Platforms provide parental locks and age verification, but content is still accessible. The responsibility cannot be shifted entirely to parents.

2. Platforms Are Profiting From Harm: Adult and violent content drives subscriptions and revenue—profit is prioritised  over child safety.

3. Current Laws Are Weakly Enforced: IT Rules 2021, MIB guidelines, and grievance mechanisms exist, but platforms often bypass or ignore them.

4. Children’s Mental Health Is at Risk: Exposure leads to aggression, anxiety, poor social development, addiction to screen time, and distorted understanding of relationships.

Petition Demands

We, the undersigned, demand strict, immediate, and legally binding action by the Government of India:

1. Ban on Unrated and Exploitative Content Accessible to Minors:

All OTT platforms must stop releasing adult, sexual, violent, or gore content until it is fully age-verified and inaccessible to children.

2. Strict Pre-Screening and Classification:

Mandatory pre-release content classification audited by government-approved authorities.

No content can be released without official rating and age restriction.

3. Legal Accountability of OTT Platforms:

Platforms that fail to comply must face heavy fines, suspension of services, or complete ban in India.

Senior executives should be personally held accountable for negligence toward child safety.

4. Government Oversight:

Responsible departments must take immediate action:

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) – monitor and enforce content compliance.

Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) – ensure protection of minors.

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) – report violations and recommend penalties.

5. Strict Law Against This Crime:

Introduce specific legislation recognizing exposure of minors to adult content as a punishable offense.

Include criminal liability for platforms and executives who knowingly release harmful content.

Call to Action

We call on all parents, educators, child rights activists, concerned citizens, and social organizations to support this petition.

Every day we delay, children are being harmed. Every day, our traditional values are eroded. OTT platforms must face strict consequences for their negligence.

If the Government and OTT platforms fail to act immediately, we demand a complete ban on non-compliant platforms. No child’s innocence should be sacrificed for corporate profit.

Sign, share, and demand immediate action. Our children’s future depends on it.
