Animals are killed without having proper time to be homed, rescued or fostered. i.e. BELLE. ID #A478560. MUST EXIT ON 2/7, (documentation available), was destroyed on 2/6. this pocket pit had a rescue hold and a 2 foster homes available to her. she wasnt given a chance.
Too many animals are not given a chance. This needs to be stopped. We are asking all kill shelters to desist early terminations of animals, especially when actions are being taken to rescue/foster/adopt.
In the case of BELLE surgical options may have been available since most dogs are altered before being rehomed.
We, the undersigned, call upon the ASPCA and our local representative to hereby put a stop to, and make it illegal, for any animal shelter to euthanize any animal before their "due out" date and/or if there is a legitimate interest from a rescue/person to adopt said animal.
We, the undersigned, find it to be inhumane to take away the animals right to life, if another option is available.
