As an avid student and skateboarder, I prefer to park a distance from the congested parking system on campus. So I skate through congested walkways with people who aren't listening or knowing their surroundings with phones in front of their faces and blasting music on their headphones. This is hazardous for both walking students and the students who prefer to ride to class. As well as avoiding costly tickets for riding on campus which students cannot afford to pay in the first place.
We, the students of San Diego Mesa college, call on the faculty to help us create a healthier and safer campus for all commuting students and teachers.
