Bring awareness and increase criminal punishment laws against gaslighting and psychological manipulation and abuse against children and adults.

Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse in which false information is presented with the intent of making a victim doubt his or her own memory, perception and sanity.[1] Instances may range simply from the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents ever occurred, up to the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim.
The term "gaslighting" comes from the play Gas Light and its film adaptations. The term is now also used in clinical and research literature. The act of psychological manipulation and abuse is detrimental to one's mental state and health. Victims and empaths "lose" themselves in the process and require intense therapy to reverse the intended manipulation and damage that has been brought upon them. Many victims become suicidal and need medication to help them regain their sense of identity again and overcome such trauma. The victims often times experience severe anxiety, depression, confusion, uncertainty, and a sense of disorientation. This is a slow, painful, and intentionally executed form of abuse against empaths and victims. Sociopaths, Narcissists, and all malicious abusers who act on these behaviors intend to destroy the victims. There should be criminal and legal consequences implemented as justice needs to be served against abusers. It isn't fair that the victims pay such a high price and the abusers live freely amongst us in society harming so many innocent people psychologically. I do not believe the existent criminal laws against emotional abuse are enough to ensure narcissists, sociopaths, psychological abusers, and psychopaths pay a serious consequence for their actions. I am therefore starting this petition to bring about more awareness and to protect innocent people (including children and adults) from such crimes. That is exactly what this is, a serious CRIME.
