This Sunday, during the Season 6 finale of Homeland (Ep America First), our beloved Peter Quinn was shot at by military and law enforcement officers, as he saved the PEOTUS from a cataclysmic assassination plot.
As long time fans and invested viewers of Homeland, we were extremely upset with this development. Absolutely gutted! Over the past 5 years, we’ve developed a profound connection and fondness for Peter Quinn. To fans, Quinn is the conscience and moral compass of the show. He’s proof that even in the deep, dark trenches of IC work, humanity and moral fiber prevail. He is and has been an integral part of Carrie’s journey and development, so much so that her journey without him seems amiss. Season 6 is also testament to the fact that there are several facets and character complexities yet to explore vis-à-vis Peter Quinn. Without this pivotal character, our Homeland experience is incomplete.
Homeland fans didn’t really get to grieve Quinn’s death through Carrie, and we didn't get a sense of closure. Having Peter Quinn back on the show would give us that opportunity.
While watching the show, we noticed some unexplained contrivances that were surely written in on purpose. We believe a coherent, rational narrative could be built around these details to explain and accommodate Peter Quinn’s return to Season 7.
As dedicated fans of the show, we’d be heartened if you’d seriously consider this as you plan for Season 7.
We'd love to see our favorite black ops assassin back on our TV screens next year!
