Today, the shocking news came in that Hans Asperger, after whom Asperger Syndrom is named, was involved in a "euthanasia" programm of the Third Reich during WWII.
The article was published in Molecular Autism (link below) and states, according to the Guardian, that "[Hans Asperger] allied himself so closely with the Nazi ideology that he frequently referred children to the Am Spiegelgrund clinic, which was set up as a collecting point for children who failed to conform to the regime’s criteria of “worthy to live.” Nearly 800 children died at the clinic between 1940 and 1945, many of whom were murdered under the notorious child “euthanasia” scheme."
With this petition I'm calling for a name change of the Asperger Syndrom because I and many other people with Asperger's with me don't want to be associated with Nazism in any way.
