The Brand/Ross incident has been blown out of all proportion and it is ridiculous that one of Radios true talents has left her job as controller of BBC Radio 2.
She should therefore be reinstated immediately.
We, the undersigned, whilst accepting the Brand/Ross situation was unfortunate, strongly believe that Lesley Douglas is an outstanding broadcaster of quality programming and it is only to the detriment of Radio 2 and the rest of the BBC that she has felt it necessary to resign.
Mark Thompson should immediately reinstate her to her position as controller of Radio 2 accepting that mistakes were made and lessons learned.
