Canon Inc is a long standing Photographic equipment manufacturer that has manufactured high quality cameras for many decades. During the 1960's through to the 1980's, Canon manufactured many SLR cameras with an outstanding range of lenses called FD lenses.
Many of these lenses are still fully functional today and the durability and lens quality is absolutely outstanding which results in beautiful images for both professional and non-professional photographers. Canon stopped manufacturing these lenses possibly in the 1990's.
A vast quantity of lenses now exist in all sorts of places that could still be used today to the delight of many thousands of photographers, if Canon decided to release new digital SLR cameras that use FD lenses.
To the board of directors and marketing professionals at Canon Inc. Japan. We the undersigned are petitioning to Canon to produce new digital SLR bodies that will use the old FD range of lenses.
We request that the sensor in the camera be of full size 35mm to eliminate "cropping" of the images being captured. We believe that a T90 style SLR camera (T90-D) or an EOS style SLR camera (EOS FD) could be created that would suit the needs of many photographers.
The end result would be many more sales of new camera bodies, and a return to the "Old School" style of photography where the photographer has full manual control of focus, exposure and zoom features. It would educate new photographers about what a lens actually does for an image and re-ignite a passion for creativity the world over.
Please Canon Inc. do not delay in making this dream for many photographers become a reality, and bring value back to your products.
P.S. Making new FD lenses would be a bonus too if you decided to continue capture more of the market in that area too!
