In the state of New Mexico, you can only get a permit to drive when your 15, 16, and 17. You can only get your actual driver license when you turn 18.
There are reasons to change this, people.
Here in New Mexico, the legal driving age is 18. I think that we should bring the law back down to at least 16 because look at it this way: Most of my friends will be turning 18 during their senior year. Now thats all fine and dandy except for the fact that if those people go off to college, they won't have very much experience and then they will drive to college and then, while at college, get in some major car wrecks because they didn't have any driving-alone experience.
I know for a fact that some of my friends will only be 17 when they go off to college which means they can't drive....what happens to them? They can't go to work, school, etc. This really needs to be changed.
