At least recent history reveals that Cobb County Government has been unable or unwilling to meet it's diversity goals, locally.
Cobb County and Gwinnett County will have the most significant growth in the state as a result of the 2010 Census and will most likely see more projects regarding infrastructure, transportation and commerce.
An organization is needed to answer the questions of "who" and "how" when looking to fulfil diversity goals as well as continue to monitor opportunities and direct funding of qualified black owned and operated businesses, so that this subgroup of minorities may also see a return of investment on their tax dollars.
We the undersigned, call on the Cobb Chamber of Commerce to work with the Cobb County Black Chamber of Commerce, Incorporated to establish and grow a dedicated relationship whose mission is the achievement of diversity goals and reporting on those efforts to the larger community.
