85% - 96% of the United States Citizens believe in God. Yet, over the past few years there has been a concerted effort under the guise of separation of Church & State, we have gradually been required to remove any and all reference to God from schools, public places, public assemblies etc.
We have remained silent and allowed this injustice to pervade our social and governmental affairs. Some of us feel this has gone well beyond tolerable limits and it is time to return to the fundamental principles established by our Founding Fathers and the rights guaranteed in our Declaration of Independence, our Country's Constitution, and our Bill of Rights!

We the people, legal citizens of the United States of America including the duly registered voters thereof, do hereby petition our Federal, State, and local representatives to expedite legislation to further validate, proclaim, and confirm our Constitutional rights of Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech.
We believe said legislation is necessary at this critical time in our country's history as there is an organized, illegal campaign to disenfranchise those inalienable rights to PUBLICALLY mention God during any public ceremonies & meetings etc. Furthermore, they seek to prohibit the display of religious symbols in our public and governmental squares and courthouses including the banning use of them during religious holidays.
Such legislation should clarify that we are a Country founded on Freedom Of Religion and NOT predicated on Freedom From Religion. Our founding fathers, safeguarded our country from being controlled by one specific religious denomination, but they did not seek to separate us from our religious heritage & principles. For the most part we were founded on Judeo-Christian Biblical beliefs and our founders clearly did not countenance the elimination of religion from the public square.
While there is a small minority of citizens whose belief is based solely on humanitarianism and atheism, they should not be allowed to usurp the rights of the majority of our American Citizens that are guaranteed in our Constitution.
We are a nation Under God.
We should acknowledge the Creator as did our Founding Fathers, in ceremony and word. He should remain on our currency, in our pledge, in the teaching of our history, and during the holiday season, nativity scenes and menorahs should be welcome in our public places. We believe our greatness as a nation will not long endure and the moral fabric of our Nation will deteriorate without legislators, judges, and religious people who will courageously defend and respect the foundation of faith upon which our history and Constitution rests. We as Americans do hereby acknowledge that our liberty is a gift of God, guaranteed by our Country's Constitution and is not an optional indulgence of any Local, State, or Federal Government.
We therefore request that enacting such legislation become a priority on every level of government to guarantee and preserve our right to publicly acknowledge our Freedom of Religion.
This petition is to confirm our stance that we as Americans, although comprised of many different faiths, stand united in the conviction that we honor God and subscribe to our moral heritage which was fought for, and in some cases died for, by our forefathers and succeeding generations.
