Continue the Fashion Design Department at Emily Griffith Technical College

The Emily Griffith Technical College currently plans to shut down the Fashion Design Program which covers Fashion Design, Apparel Alterations, Pattern Drafting, Professional Sewing and Assistant Designer.
This petition calls for the school and its accrediting body to reevaluate its decision to close these programs.
This is an established program that has long existed at Emily Griffith and is a unique program for not only Denver, but the Rocky Mountain region. If this program is closed, there is not an affordable alternative for Fashion Design students. For Apparel Alterations and Pattern Drafting there is NO alternative.
If this program is shut down, the ONLY sewing certification in the state of Colorado will be closed.
We, the undersigned, call on Emily Griffith Technical College and Council on Occupational Education to reinstatement and continuation of the Fashion Design Department at Emily Griffith Technical College.
