A tragic event on Monday 10th October resulted in the totally avoidable death of a 6 year old boy, crossing the London Road, holding his mother's hand, at the junction of Balmoral Road and London Road, Westcliff on Sea, Essex.
Two primary schools and one senior school use the London Road at this point and could be crossing at any point - it is a long walk between the 2 sets of traffic lights at The Cricketers and Hamlet Court Road.
We would like traffic control, school signs and a crossing in the middle section.
Please sign this petition to allow parents and children to cross the London Road more safely by installing a 20 mile an hour limit between The Cricketers and Hamlet Court Road, by putting up school signs and by providing a further crossing, either pelican or zebra with a crossing patrol person at school run hours, at the junction of Balmoral and London Roads.
