Do not scrap healthy school lunches for primary school children

900,000 children from low-income families currently benefit from a hot healthy school lunch - a policy that serves them now and the NHS long into the future.

The NHS spends £16 billion a year on the direct medical costs of diabetes and conditions related to being overweight or obese.. That is double what we spend treating cancer. Teaching our youngest school children about healthy food, by serving it to them every day, is a very good investment.

The official petitions website is closed as parliament is dissolved, so we felt compelled to set up our own. After the election, we will hand deliver this petition to the new Government.

After 10,000 signatures, petitions have previously received a response from the government.
