Marijuana is currently listed as a schedule I drug, along with Heroin LSD Ecstasy and Peyote. Schedule I drugs are listed as having no medical qualities; however medical marijuana is currently legal and being prescribed by doctors in 33 states as of Nov 7, 2018. Statistics show that minority communities suffer the most from this scheduling of marijuana therefore I am asking until our state becomes one of the next states to embrace the medical characteristics of Cannabis and made legal that criminal charges not be imposed when a person is found in possession of the drug.
We, the undersigned, call on the District Attorney of Tarrant County to stop imposing charges for the possession of Marijuana.
