Nonsmokers are involuntarily exposed to secondhand smoke in public places. This environmental tobacco smoke is the directly related to many deaths every year. This includes 2,760 infant deaths, 3,400 lung cancer deaths and 46,000 heart failure deaths.
People get put in jail for murder but over 50,000 people are dying every year from secondhand smoking exposure and nothing is being done about it? There is a dire need for a nationwide smoking ban in public places. This will ensure that less people will lose their lives as a result of secondhand smoke exposure
We, the undersigned, call on legislation to enact a Nationwide smoking ban in public places.
