Facebook does not seem to care about protecting endangered species. Evidence of this is to be seen everywhere on websites. I personally have seen and reported hundreds of cases where endangered wildlife is being sold on Facebook. There have been petitions against TripAdvisor for the same issue.

To see tiger and sun bear parts, being sold on social media is extremely disheartening to say the least. Please look on Facebook for these things if you do not believe me and then sign this petition for the sake of endangered species around the globe.

Here is one profile that is showing men smoking from illegal ivory in Vietnam. Facebook says it is not against their policy to care about this. Now it is up to you to put an end to it!

We, the undersigned, call on Facebook to make the following changes to their community standards.

1. Stop allowing Facebook users to post photos of endangered wildlife for sale.

2. Stop allowing Facebook users to use personal profiles as an illegal business.

3. Abide by the CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) agreement.

4. When wildlife crimes are reported Facebook must take immediate action, including, but not limited to removing the profile and reporting to NGOs in the countries where wildlife crimes are being committed.

This petition once signed will be sent to the CITES Secretariat, John E. Scanlon.

Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.
