Today in the UK young people are expected to save 5% of the house value, with a 2 bed house in grater London averaging £325,000 the deposit needed is £16,250, Most these people also pay an average rent of £1,000 per month along with house hold bills.
We should have a credit card worth over £1000 which we can not use more than 25%. Of.
We should have an overdraft that we don't use.
We need to have loans/debt we pay monthly ( the bigger the better).
We needs to pay council tax, water rates (lots of bills)
The government has implemented a government help to buy scheme which helps first time buyers get a mortgage with 5% deposit , and although banks offer 95% mortgages, they have made the scoring impossible for first time buyers meet.
So please sign the potion if you believe people who have been renting for 5 years never missed a payment, pay their rent (more than mortgage repayment) pay their bills, council tax, tv licence, work hard and still manage to save 5% should have proved to the banks (who wee bailed out) that we are NOT a high risk.
Have we not proved it already?
I think if you have done all the above you deserve a fair mortgage, don't you?
We believe people who have been paying rent and bills for five years have proved they can manage a mortgage.
