The Transportation Fund in New Jersey is broke, out of money. The fix for the New Jersey Legislature is to raise the gas tax by 23 cents per gallon. The people of New Jersey are already heavily burdened by excessive taxes statewide. This will decimate the people of New Jersey and the Politicians don't seem to care one bit. It is time that the Politicians understood that we are their bosses and we have the final say.
I am asking to get your signature on this petition. By signing this petition we are letting every Politician know that if they vote to raise our taxes we will vote them out. I will post the results of this vote showing which Politician did not care about our struggles to make a living and WE WILL VOTE THEM OUT NEXT ELECTION AND WE WILL NOT FORGET. They offer in exchange of the 23 cents increase per gallon a 1% decrease over time of our sales tax.
My solution is to continue to collect the 7% sales tax and, instead of raising the gas tax, kick back 1% of the sales tax to the transportation fund. It is virtually the same amount of money but will not further burden the People of New Jersey. However before any additional taxpayers money is to go to the Transportation Fund the fund itself needs to be fixed. You don't keep on filling up your gas tank in your car without first fixing the hole in the tank....... common sense!
We, the undersigned, call on the New Jersey Legislature to vote "no" on the Gas Tax Increase.
Knowing that a vote of yes will heavily burden the very people they represent, If they choose to go against the very people they represent let it be clear that they will be voted out of office.
Come election time if you voted to raise the gas tax we will vote for the opposing candidate no questions asked. This is your only warning.
