The Asian population in the City of San Leandro has grown rapidly over the past five years.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau 2005 American Community Survey, 25.9% of San Leandro’s population is Asian. It is growing rapidly at a rate of 2% per year.
Because of this growth, it is an opportune time to create a "Friendly City" relationship between San Leandro and cities in China to help enhance cultural awareness and mutual appreciation of cultures, provide opportunities for professional exchanges and economic growth in both regions through these international relationships.
We, the undersigned, wholeheartedly believe in building friendly city relationships between San Leandro and cities in China, the first to be Yangchun in Guangdong Province.
