There are bathrooms for men and women only in schools. This is not okay. Nonbinary people exist and have to use the restroom too. It is not only uncomfortable for them to have to fit themselves into one of the two predefined categories, it can be incredibly painful. It also gives others information such as their assigned gender at birth, which they can now use to bully them. Nonbinary people already have enough struggles just trying to be themselves. Why not make it just a little bit easier?
We, the undersigned, call on the US government to make gender neutral bathrooms in schools. There are bathrooms for men and women only in schools. This is not okay. Nonbinary, genderfluid, intersex, and agender people exist and have to use the restroom too. It is not only uncomfortable for them to have to fit themselves into one of the two predefined categories, it can be incredibly painful. It also gives others information such as their assigned gender at birth, which they can now use to bully them. Nonbinary, genderfluid, intersex, and agender people already have enough struggles just trying to be themselves. Why not make it just a little bit easier?
