Our classrooms are constantly never cleaned. Our students cannot use the classroom freely and sit on the floor or even use the sinks since they are never cleaned. Trash has been pilling up in our classrooms and floors are rarely mopped.
We have to take time from our day to sweep the floors and some of us even have parents volunteer to help clean instead of help us work with our children. This needs to change.
We, the undersigned, believe our students deserve a clean environment where teachers can work and students can learn.
We also call on the Albuquerque Public Schools and the janitor(s) and direct supervisor(s) to uphold their duties of keeping our classroom environments clean by tending to them a minimum of twice a week.
