There is an on going issue with GMC terrains and Equinox’s leaving people stuck with an out of commission vehicle they are most likely still paying on. There are two major issues and to back up my data you can go to about any car review page and find the complaints. Both vehicles have a PCV valve inside the air box when the temperature gets frigid the excessive moisture in the valve freezes the valve shut causing the engine to not be able to release pressure causing the rear seal of the engine to blow
out leaving all of your engine oil on the ground. The second issue witch doesn’t happen as often but is still very common is the timing belt will jump time causing your engine to seize up while driving. I am now trying to trade my Terrain in and the banks won’t approve the loan because the SUV needs repairs. I’ve had this vehicle for 3 years and it was one thing after another with it all around a very unreliable vehicle. I am stuck paying on it and I can not drive it unless I get it repaired witch will likely be over $1,000 that I do not have to dump into it at the moment being it was not expected and un preventable and even if I did repair it, it will most likely happen again. There are zero open recalls on the vehicles and tons of open cases involving this issue the dealership I got it from (White Allen Chevrolet Dayton, Oh)had already town six of them in this year for the same issue. GM won’t talk to me about it because I have not had it inspected at a GM approved dealership lately and I have to pay to get it towed there to be inspected if I want GM to have anything to do with it.
We the victims of GM’s faulty vehicles call on General Motors to open a recall for the GMC Terrain and the Chevrolet Equinox timing belt problem and pcv valve problem.
