The ramp located towards the back end of Greylock Ridge Road has posed several problems. We have had a number of security issues with break-ins as well as a car driving down the ramp (yes, a car...).
We have also had a number of dirt bikes driving down increasing noise and foot traffic. It is a steep ramp which is enticing for skateboarders, reflecting an unsafe environment.
The ramp also limits the types of homes that can be built on the two open lots next to it, devaluing our homes.
The Community of Greylock, Matthews, NC petition the Town of Matthews to eliminate the "ramp" located towards the end of Greylock Ridge Road and connects us to the community above.
This ramp to the neighboring community has posed security concerns for our community with people sitting at the top of the community drinking / lingering and leaving debris from their night on our properties. It has also increased foot traffic.
We view the ramp as a big deterrent to getting valued people interested in the lots on either side of this ramp. In addition, it is too steep and poses a safety concern for the children of Greylock. We ask that this "ramp" be eliminated as it is unnecessary.
