Halt, Encourage, Learn, Protect Against Bullying

Children are bullied everyday and it's time WE do something about it!

Whether it's at school, in public places, or even the internet, bullying affects approximately 80% of children by the time they've reached high school, a number all too alarming!

We ask that you support us and take a pledge against bullying by joining us and our efforts to make a difference. This pledge is the initiative to do something about it!

How you ask?

Parents- Become more involved and aware of your children and their social circles. Be more attentive to the behavior of your children, encourage their self-esteem, educate them, invite them to talk to you about problems or issues they encounter whether it be school or otherwise. If your child's teacher comes under fire for reporting bullying, support them, take their side. They are with your children for the day and they see many things that we are not able to. Don't let our teachers feel as if the parents do not support them.

Children- Stand together! Report incidents or seek help if you or someone you know is being bullied. Talk to your parents, teachers, counselors, or any responsible adult to help put an end to bullying. YOU ARE NOT ALONE, WE want to help YOU!

Friends- Support your friend. Don't let them feel alone. Go with them to their guidance counselor...take them to the principal's office...help them find a way to get the help they need so they no longer feel alone.

Teachers- DON"T TURN A BLIND EYE... if your gut feeling tells you that you think one of your students is a victim of bullying, trust your instinct. You are entrusted with the most precious commodity on this earth, and that is our children. Protect them and their childhood as you would protect your own children. You are their guardians and protectors in the absence of their parents, we know you will do the right thing, even when other teachers may tell you to ignore the situation.
