Pat Benatar (born Patricia Mae Andrzejewski; January 10, 1953) is an American coloratura mezzo-soprano singer, actress, songwriter, and four time Grammy Award winner. Benatar had two RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums, five RIAA-certified platinum albums, three RIAA-certified gold albums, 17 Billboard charting hits, 15 of them being Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits "Hit Me with Your Best Shot", "Love Is a Battlefield", "We Belong", and "Invincible".[1] Other popular singles include "Heartbreaker", "Treat Me Right", "Fire and Ice", "Promises in the Dark", "Shadows of the Night", and "All Fired Up". Benatar's recordings were heavily played in the early days of MTV; she was the first female, first solo and second artist to be played there, performing "You Better Run".[2]
We, the undersigned appeal to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction committee to nominate Pat Benatar and her husband Neil Giraldo the guitarist of her band to be an inductee class of 2018. She has been too long overlooked.
