There has been no clear detailed accountability to Shawnee County residents as to the expenditure of Countywide 1/2 of 1 cent sales tax funds that go to JEDO. In addition, there is no clear detailed accountability as to the 10% allocated to economically and socially disadvantaged individuals and business enterprises as outlined in Interlocal Agreement of December 9, 2004.

It is imperative to the economic development and growth of Shawnee county to request the Kansas Attorney General's Office to investigate the following areas of the funding provided by the 1/2 of 1 cent sales tax:
1. The possible misuse or misrepresentation of public funds;
2. Contracting opportunities;
3. Open records and full disclosure of financial details.
