In 2002, Simon Hall was remanded in custody charged with the murder of Mrs Albert and was subsequently convicted the following year. 7 years on Simon still protests his innocence while the dubious nature of his conviction and imprisonment remain.
More information can be found at his official website at caseblog.wronglyaccusedperson.org.uk/Justice4Simon/ but put simply for the conviction of Simon Hall to be considered safe it is necessary to accept all of the following.
1/ That Mrs Albert ate a meal at 4 o'clock in the morning instead of midnight as was her usual.
2/ People randomly decide to murder someone with no motive.
3/ “Clumsy Cats” create noises similar to the sound of breaking glass at 2am waking neighbours, but burglars break windows (apparently from inside) at 6am silently so as not to be heard by the same people.
4/ Black flock fleece fibres can only originate from one particular garment and that checking against around 50 producers of such fibres worldwide can be considered extensive (Feel free to search online for yourselves to see how these fibres are).
5/ That garment is only available from one outlet and the material from which it is made is used in nothing else.
6/ That it is possible for someone to own such a garment without evidence of it’s existence, evidence of it’s purchase or evidence of it having been received as a gift.
7/ That scene contamination as evidenced by a pubic hair which was later proved to have come from a police officer could not equally account for fibre traces at any of the sites where they were found.
8/ That a drunk man can break into a house, brutally murder someone, return to his parents home acting normally without leaving any trace of himself or his environment, or collecting any traces of the victim or her property.
It is significantly more likely that the actual perpetrator remains free to walk among us and will never be caught until the wrongful conviction of Simon Hall is overturned and the investigation is re-opened.
This petition follows on from one originally started at http://justice4simon.co.uk/petition.php containing 1996 signatures which cannot continue for technical reasons. Therefore if you have already signed on that page you need not do so here also though on completion we will cross check both signature lists to ensure that there are no duplicates.
Please sign this petition in pursuit of justice not only for Simon Hall, but for Mrs Albert who very much deserves to have her killer found.
We the undersigned call on the British Justice System to exercise a commonsense approach to the evidence, declare Simon's conviction unsafe and grant an appeal so that Justice can be done for all concerned.
