We, as CWRU Students, Alumni, Faculty, and Staff are disappointed with the university’s response to the murder of Thomas Yatsko on our campus. It has been over two months since his murder, and there has been little to no information provided to the public about this young man’s death and zero accountability regarding the actions of the police officer.
We are demanding that CWRU:
Work with UCPD and UCI to obtain and publicly release the video of the shooting
Speak out to denounce the murder of Thomas Yatsko and police brutality in Cleveland
Engage UCPD and the Cleveland Police to racial profiling and police brutality in Cleveland, and what CWRU can do to reduce those injustices
