We represent the students of The Adults with Disabilities Program at ACE in Tallahasee, FL. The component of ACE earmarked for adults with disabilities and seniors is funded by the vocational-rehabilitation portion of the budget — the part slashed June 9 during budget negotiations between the House and Senate education subcommittees.
ACE provided participants with a wide variety of educational, personal and recreational opportunities. The faculty and staff in the Adults with Disabilities Program offer assistance developing and honing the skills necessary to become contributing members of society.
The multidisciplinary group of caring professionals at ACE also helped improve employability skills by providing specific skills training and daily on the job training needed for employment.
Our program included classes and training in many areas including, but not limited to:

Leisure activities
Physical fitness
Communication skills

Job Skills
Social Skills
Technology Skills
We request that the funding be reinstated at once to comply with the beginning of the 2015 school year on August 17th.

We the undersigned urgently require your immediate involvement in a matter that, if not corrected, shall bring down catastrophic consequences upon a group of the most vulnerable, disabled and elderly adults living in Leon County, Florida and vicinity.
These, the weakest among us, have lost their way, apparently, due to managers of their daily education program not securing the necessary funding to keep Adult & Community Education (ACE) in operation.
ACE is designed to provide daily living skills, health, job skills, computer skills, ) and many necessary educational tools to accomplish a meaningful life. Without which will surely result in the tragic loss of these useful members of our community. These citizens struggle enough, please inflict no additional harm by casting them to the wind.
NOW is the time for all good men and women of influence to come to the aid of our disabled and elderly. You must! It is your duty! Do it NOW! ...Secure necessary funding for this very necessary and required educational program.
