Over the past five years Allegiant Airline ( Allegiant Travel Company )has been successfully running flights from AVP to Sanford ( Orlando ) and PIE (Tampa-St. Pete). Almost all the flights we have been on have been filled or nearly filled and this flight service offers the hundreds of thousands of people living in Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Northern Tier of the state and the Poconos the opportunity and affordability to travel to these two sunny, vacation areas on a regular and economical basis. I urge Allegiant to reconsider the decision to stop these flights in January 2018 forcing all these people to travel to Allentown ABE and keep the flights operating from AVP
We, the undersigned, ask Allegiant Travel Company / Allegiant Airline to continue the operation of flights from Scranton / Wilkes-Barre (AVP) to the sunny Florida vacation destinations of Orlando Sanford (SFB) and Tampa / St. Pete (PIE). We urge Allegiant Travel Company / Allegiant Airline to work in conjunction with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport Authority to make that happen for the citizens, families and travelers here in Northeastern Pennsylvania and beyond. Don't abandon the hundreds of thousands of travelers in the area.
