The parents of Miranda North PS children have had enough of the dangerous conditions out the front of our school. We have traffic lights to cross the road out the front of the school.
However, every single day while waiting for the lights to change, during the school zone 40km speed limit zone, cars and trucks are speeding through the red light. Not speeding through the orange, but actually passing through after the lights have changed red.
We teach our children to wait for the green signal to cross, but what is the point, if cars and trucks don't obey the rules? Someone is going to be killed if it is left the way it is.
This morning was the last straw. After witnessing every morning this week, cars & trucks speeding through the red light, this morning we are waiting to cross and the truck on the outside lane, closest to us stops on the red, however a speeding ute, flies through the red on the blind side. I can't believe how close we came to having a fatal accident. This is not an isolated incident. It happens more often than not.
Please sign our petition to have the Roads and Maritime Services install a speed and or red light camera at the traffic lights out the front of Miranda North PS (The Boulevarde, between Renown Ave & Edward Ave) to prevent a fatal accident and keep our kids safe.
