On August 14, 2008, Congress enacted the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), Public Law 110–314, 122 Stat. 3016, which puts into place restrictions on the amount of lead that can be present in products designed or intended primarily for children Under 12 years of age.
This law applies to manufacturers and retailers of products intended for children. However, the law does not apply to schools, daycare centers, and playgrounds.
We, the undersigned, call on the Congress of the United States of America to pass an amendment to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) to include schools, daycare centers, and playgrounds in the provisions of this law.
