Hazing, commonly seen in Greek Life, is a serious issue that is often misrepresented in movies as a comedic scene.
When movies do include hazing, the audience is not warned that there is hazing, yet they would be warned if there was violence, harsh language, nudity, sex, etc. Hazing is just as serious and important to include.
As there is no warning, viewers can misinterpret that information and become convinced that hazing is not a grave matter.
By signing this petition, you can contribute to the possible reformation of the film rating system by the MPAA, so that hazing will finally be recognized as a humorless, grim matter and will be considered in this tone when movies are being rated.
We, the undersigned, call on the Motion Picture Association of America to include a warning of hazing on both websites and in the movies themselves when hazing is accordingly seen in a movie.
