All citizens of the U.S.A. who feel the government's connection to the oil industry has gone on long enough.
Now, those directly in connection to the profits reaped from offshore oil drilling and marketing must be made accountable for the environmental and economic hardships that their profits have effected upon the nation, and in various other aspects, the world.
We, the undersigned, call on the U.S. government's federal regulatory officials, lawmakers, and enforcement agencies to halt any further approval of offshore or OCS oil drilling as well as any LNG platforms effective immediately.
This ban will remain in effect until current industry regulations are brought into compliance with proper environmental safeguards. Should this occur prior to that of the environmental state of the Gulf having been restored to its pre-oil spill state, construction and or plans to construct platforms for the purpose of oil dredging, drilling, or laying of pipelines will not be granted approval.
This ban shall remain in effect until regulations are upgraded, responsible personnel in the federal departments have been relieved of their duties, and habitats in the effected areas of the gulf oil spill have been restored. This ban supersedes any amended attempts at undermining its intents.
