Manalapan needs a Skatepark

The United States of America has a skatepark in almost every town now. Some of these skateparks are top of the line skateparks as to others are cheap small skateparks. The point is though, that they have a skatepark.

Skateboarding is a growing sport all around the country. It is almost becoming as popular as sports like; football, baseball, soccer, etc. In California, they even have a skateboarding league. This shows how fast and wide skateboarding has spread throughout the country, and the world. In Manalapan township, there are many skateboarders, bmxers, and rollerbladers. We are not in walking, biking, or skating distance from any skateparks. The closest skatepark to our town is 15 minutes away. This is too far for us kids when our parents can not drive us.

Since we do not have a skatepark, we are forced to go behind shopping centers and skateboard off loading docks, stairsets, and even on sidewalks. People complain we are ruining property, but we are not doing it to be harmful. The only reason we are jumping off these stairs, grinding these handrails, and waxing these ledges are because we have nothing else to skateboard on. With a skatepark, we would be forced to wear our helmets and we would not be destroying property because we would be in a designated area with ramps.

Our township is a very wealthy township too. Our township is adding new fields for soccer, football, etc. With all the room in the Recreational Center, there is sure to be enough space for a skatepark. Thank you for reading and please sign.
