Canada is near the middle of the list for average hours worked per week. (http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-18144320)
Most of the countries with less hours worked have an overall better quality of life. (https://www.numbeo.com/quality-of-life/rankings_by_country.jsp)
In China a nap after lunch is considered a Constitutional right. In Italy and Spain, businesses shut down so people can spend time with their families and have a quick nap. Some large American companies (Google) allow for midday naps, as they believe it leads to increased work productivity. (https://sleep.org/articles/napping-around-the-world/)
We need to stand up and fight for our right to a midday nap!
We, the undersigned, call on the Canadian Federal Government to allow for 1 hour of nap time each working day to increase work productivity and overall happiness.
