Declaration of Moral Independence

These times have brought upon us a necessity to declare a moral independence.

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to separate from the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which God’s law entitles them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to this moral separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. (That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the citizens. That whenever any form of government becomes disengaged with its citizens, it is the right of the people to alter and to institute a new government.)

As Citizens of the great Republic of the United States of America, we find it necessary, due to amoral and sometimes immoral decisions made by our elected officials, to dissolve our moral union with the present administration, senators, and representatives.

We, the signed Citizens, view that the “Executive” branch has not upheld their oath of office to support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and has infringed on the protection of our rights, our happiness and our safety as a people.

To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world:

They have refused to uphold and defend constitutional laws, being the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

They have taken action against their Governors and individual States by throwing the full force of the Department of Justice against them.

They have called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from their constituents, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with their measures.

They have endeavored to pervert the population of these States; for that purpose ignoring the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners, and refusing to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

They have openly thwarted the opinion of Federal Judges, pushing unconstitutional legislation through the system, ignoring the will of the people.

They have employed a multitude of “Czars”, and have set up swarms of Officers to harass our people.

They have kept among us, invasive enforcement entities without the Consent of the People.

They have combined with foreign political bodies to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving their Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation.

They have exposed the States to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within, pitting one against the other.

They have excited domestic instability amongst us.

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and fundamentally transforming the Forms of our Governments.

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent.

For bypassing our own Legislatures and making them obsolete in all cases whatsoever.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. Those whose moral character are thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, are unfit to be the rulers of a free people.

Conclusion to the Moral Declaration of Independence

We, therefore, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the goodness of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good Citizens of this Declaration, solemnly publish and declare, That these Citizens are, and of Right ought to be Free and morally independent of this Administration, and the political powers that bind us; and that all moral support between them and the signed citizens of this document, is and ought to be totally dissolved.

• WE affirm and pledge that we will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States.
• WE will continue to obey the civil laws of our respective States.
• WE will continue to file and pay our tax responsibility under the U.S. Tax Code. (Until We the People vote on an alternative form of taxation.)

And for the support of this Moral Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
