More Guns -- More Violence. Reform IS Necessary

Every year in the United States approximately 31,000 people’s lives are cut short from the use of a dangerous firearm (Bennett Par. 12). For decades now, guns have exponentially taken the lives of men, women, and children through belligerent means such as murder, manslaughter, or suicide. Even with certain regulations in place, more and more people are finding ways to combat the system and work around it to get their hands on a firearm. Considering recent and long lasting outbreaks of gun violence in the United States, it is imperative that lawmakers design new and improved statutes to reform the process for obtaining a firearm in order to eliminate mass shootings and gun violence in society.
